• Constructing effective market tests
• Understanding supplier costs with manufacturing cost accounting
• Building effective cost breakdowns
• Analyzing supplier quotes with and without cost breakdowns
One-on-one Private Quote Analysis and Negotiation Preparation Session:
Conducted any time after Group Session 1, APD will provide an individual negotiation preparation consultation based upon analysis of a detailed cost breakdown against APD’s Optimal Cost Validation models.
Group Session 2 – Building and Using Price and Cost Models
Objectives:
- Building an effective data warehouse
- Developing and using linear, multivariate and statistical models to estimate price and manufacturing
process parameters like machine size, cycle time and scrap - How to use models to estimate pricing on new programs and to evaluate supplier quotes (beginning)
- How to choose the most effective cost model for a commodity
Group Session 3 – Validating Optimal Costs
Objective:
- Analyzing supplier quotes against your cost models (Advanced), industry cost models and actual open
book cost models
Group Session 4 – Conducting Effective, Knowledge Based Negotiations
Objectives:
- Conducting effective collaborative negotiations with suppliers to:
- Obtain cost transparency
- Move to optimal costs
- Build relationships
